Presentation Title: Sustainable continuous casting by improving steel quality

Prof. Qifeng Shu is a full professor (tenured) in university of Oulu. He is the leader of continuous casting and steel cleanliness research group in process metallurgy research unit. Before professorship in Finland, he worked as a full professor in University of Science and technology Beijing in China (2015-2018) and visiting professor in Federal university of Ceara in Brazil (2016-2017). Prof. Shu has been the Principal Investigator for many European, Finnish and Chinese projects. He actively contributes to the EU and international steel research community by serving as opponent/evaluator for doctoral thesis, evaluator for professorship, and evaluator for research proposal. He has published around 100 journal papers and has been listed in Stanford university world 2% top scientist (2020,2021,2022,2023, 2024, 2025).
