Presentation Title: Low-Carbon Iron Production: Opportunities and Recent Practices

Dr. Xue Feng Dong is a senior research fellow in the School of Engineering at the University of Wollongong. He obtained his Ph.D. from the University of New South Wales in 2004, followed by four years as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the same university. His career path has included valuable industry experience, having worked as a development engineer in the steel industry for over seven years. Dr. Dong's research expertise spans multiple disciplines, including multiphase flow, heat transfer, mass transfer with reactions, computational fluid dynamics and process engineering. His current research focuses on metallurgical engineering, specifically investigating processing limits, developing low emission process technologies, and evaluating furnace conditions to improve process performance and furnace life.
